The school of Sherman are justly
her pride, and never fail to attract
attention from people from any sec

The streets are the most used of all
municipal property; ánd yet they are
the most willfully neglected.
The police are on the look out for
vagrants, and white or black they are
to be taken in and locked up.
The picnic to be participated in by
several of the Sunday schools, prom-
ises to be a veay pleasant afioir.
The streets will sotin be numbered
" and everything put in readiness for
the placing of postmen on duty.
—— ,
Even Bonham can afford to bhild a
City Hall but Sherman can not.
What is the matter with us anyway ?
The streets should be placed in
■noh a condition that mud holes
would not he so numerous after every
rain.
Now is the time to commence a
cnisftdo on the hosts of worthless
curs which infest the streets and ev-
ery other portion of the town.
The people who are disposed to
lay all blame for the filthy oondition
of the city on the officers should
reflect that they should aid in the
matter themselves.
The National Steam Renovating
Company are endorsed by the press
and public as one of the greatest
sanitary benefits any people ever had
the pleasure of enjoying.
Sherman set the example in tbe
Belt Line craze, and now every town
and hamlet in the State wants it also.
Surely Sherman ought to feel inflated
that her judgment of a good thing
should so generally bo accepted.
We have had enough rain in Gray
son county to make tho wheat crop.
There íb a larger acreage than was
ever before planted in the county, and
the yield per acre will be unusually
prolifio. Grayson county farmers
have nothing to complain of.
The National Steam Feather Ren
orating Company respectfully invites
the citizens of Sherman to inspect
their machine which will be in opera-

to the jury, and the Court is waiting
their verdict.
The attorneys in the case of'Moore

title, are preparing at this hour to
make announcements.
The Wounded' Men.
Word received from both Southern
and Mann this morning, is that tboy
are doing protty well, and that they
do not appear to suffer near as much
as yesterday. Their wounds are very
similar and are both pre nouncod al
most necessarily fatal.
DlMtrlet Court.
The case of Milla, guardian, vs.
Herndon. still progresses in the Dis
trict Court, and is likely to last all the
afternoon. This is a case where cold
and uninterested law points take up
most of the time, and but little ovi
"douce of other character is introduced.
It is attracting much attention, how-
ever.
To the Alms llouxe.
An old man by the name Jauson
applied to His Honor, Judge Gregg,
today for admittance into tho Alms
House, and his request was granted.
He started to walk out but was taken
in charge by the superintendent and
conveyed out to the hospital depart

Throwing KocUa.
There are a crowd of small boys in
the neighborhood of the Union Depot
and north of it, who persist in stoning
every train that passes by them, and
on one or two occasions have broken
windows, and tbe lights put out on
tho rear of tho coaches. Thoy don't
stop with throwing at trains, however,
but try their marksmanship nt liviug
objects, as several one oyed cows will
attest.
